1.
Before I leave, give me a second to catch my breath Kissed the hand of the girl I love before I left But I won’t let her down Blast off, leave this world. x2 Before I leave give me another second to catch my breath Look around at the world that I’ve lived Think about my childhood home and how I’ll never see it again, oh Blast off, Oh. (do it again!) Before I leave, give me another second to catch my breath To think about all the ways this could end But now I'm star-bound–– and I'm afraid Blast off, oh. x2 [But now I’m never coming back to this spinning, round reality A giant ball of dust and dirt held in place by gravity Hollow like a bell, I can hear it ringing out to me Fly out to the stars, the facade is dead.] Blast off, Blast off.
2.
Blanket 01:51
Cut the chain I'll float away Everything will fade To varying shades of grey. Castaway, floating on my sea Drowning in my surroundings Beneath this blanket I'll lie And sleep the days away.
3.
Drown 02:50
I'm hopeless, I'm flailing, and shaking, I sweat in your arms. Assuage me, I'm crying, my tears forever on your sleeve. I'm stuck here, grounded, while the rain beats hard on my back. Now I'm drowning, and you're crying, But how can I save you when I can't even save myself - Now please, look in my eyes. Ain't this poetry? You have such pretty eyes. Draw them close, entangle them with mine.

about

This is a demo we recorded in a basement and it's about going to the ocean in outer space while wrapped in a blanket and being sad because you miss everyone and then drowning inside of the ocean in outer space while you're wrapped in the blanket. It's an intense listen for sure.
